Titles should start with level 2.


The aim here is twofold. First, to recreate the graphic as faithfully as possible using only R and openly available data. Second, to build a fully transparent and reproducible workflow that covers the entire pipeline: data retrieval, cleaning, transformation, visualization, and final layout. The final figure is generated entirely from scratch using tidyverse tools, ggplot2, sf, and related packages. Every element—scatterplot, ridge-density panels, world map, annotation blocks, and the overall layout—is constructed through a structured sequence of steps designed to balance precision, clarity, and readability.

We want to avoid ggsave. Instead, let the chunk output the image with the proper fig.width and fig.height, as discussed in class.
